Long story short, ads.txt and app-ads.txt is added on your digital inventory and tells Holid.io that you have agreed to let it place ads.

Ads.txt and app-ads.txt are initiatives by the international organization IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) which aims to reduce the amount of fraudulent advertisement. Helping the entire chain; from advertisers to end users, ads.txt and app-ads.txt have made sure to minimize the amount of fake traffic since it is connected with the relevant URL or developer URL where ads are rendered.

Ads.txt is for sites

Running a site and showing ads from Holid.io comes with the requirement to add ads.txt on your website, which is added on yourdomain.com/ads.txt.

App-ads.txt is for apps

When running ads on an app, app-ads.txt is needed. You add the app-ads.txt lines on your developer website (adjusted in your app store settings for Google Play and Apple App store) on for example devsite.com/app-ads.txt.
