Video ads

Learn how Holid.io can show Video ads on your website.

Video ads can be classified into two main types based on their delivery method: in-stream and out-stream. Holid.io can deliver both types on your website or app.

Video ads can be shown in-feed, after article and in the sidebar.

All video ads are capped at 60 seconds. Videos longer than 15 seconds are skippable after 5 seconds.

In-stream video ads

In-stream ads are displayed within the content that the user is actively consuming, typically before, during, or after streaming video content. Holid.io can show ads in all the following ways, but will by default show pre-roll if nothing else has been requested.

  • Pre-roll ads: These ads appear before the main video content and typically range from a few seconds to a minute in length. Users have the option to skip pre-roll ads after a few seconds.
  • Mid-roll ads: These ads are shown during breaks in the main video content, usually at natural pause points. They interrupt the user's viewing experience and can vary in length.
  • Post-roll ads: These ads appear after the main video content has finished playing. Users have already consumed the primary content, so post-roll ads may have slightly lower engagement compared to pre-roll and mid-roll ads.

In-stream video ads are great if you want to have or already have video content on your website or app.

Holid.io will enable video content in the player for you if you don't have any video content. Currently, only English language video content is supported. If you have your own video content, please contact us via the support-form on Holid.io to set it up.

Ad language will always be based on the location of users, meaning not necessarily English.

Depending on where you implement your video ad, they can for example be shown in the feed of an article, or after an article:

Out-stream video ads

Out-stream video ads are displayed without the need of a video player showing content. A temporary video player appears and autoplays an out-stream video ad when an ad is available and when the user comes in to view. The temporary player for the out-stream video ad close when the video ad is done playing.

Out-stream video ads are great if you do not want to have video content on your website.
